Oppressive heat returns with a vengeance this week

If you've enjoyed the cooler, less humid conditions we had at the end of last week, we have some bad news for you.

Temperatures this week will approach the 100-degree mark and, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (and possibly Friday and Saturday), will surpass that mark. Heat indices all week will be in triple digits as humidity rises back to oppressive levels.


Some models are showing some of the hottest conditions ever recorded in south Louisiana and coastal Mississippi, with some areas seeing record high temperatures.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny. Hot, humid. 20% isolated showers, storms. Low: S 81, N 79. High: 102.

THURSDAY: Mostly sunny. Hot, humid. 20% isolated showers, storms. Low: S 82, N 80. High: 100.
