An 87-year-old woman is fighting for life after her son reportedly beat her with a dumbbell Saturday night in Metairie.
JPSO has taken 64-year-old Raymond Felder into custody in the incident.

He’s facing charges of aggravated second degree battery and a series of unrelated charges dealing with multiple attachments and being a fugitive from another jurisdiction.
Accoring to JPSO, Felder and his mother were arguing at their home on Ivy Street between Laurel and Meadow Streets Saturday evening.
Felder allegedly grabbed the dumbbell and struck his mother in the head a number of times.
After losing consciousness, Felder’s daughter called authorities.
The woman was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
Felder was arrested just before midnight at his home on Lester Avenue just off West Metairie Avenue.
Felder is currently being held without bond in the Gretna Correctional Center.
