
Cops are working to determine what happened after a pedestrian was killed in the CBD just before 9:00am.
"The NOPD is investigating a traffic fatality at the intersection of S. Peters and Poydras Streets," Spokeswoman Karen Boudrie said in an email.
"A Pedestrian was reportedly struck by a tow truck and declared deceased at scene. The call came in at 8:55am."
A news release added more details.
"Just before 9:00 a.m, a flat-bed tow truck traveling north on South Peters with the traffic signal turned left onto Poydras Street. At that time, the victim reportedly attempted to cross Poydras Street on foot north bound on South Peters Street. The victim was struck by the truck and was pronounced by EMS to be deceased on scene. The tow truck driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. No citations have been issued at this time."
