A Harvey man is dead after authorities say he was struck by an SUV in Plaquemines Parish.
The crash happened around 7:45 p.m. Saturday on Engineers Road near Commerce Street in Belle Chasse, just east of the Plaquemines/Jefferson Parish Line.
According to state troopers, Jamie Young was walking along Engineers Road when an SUV struck him. Young, 69, died at the scene.
Investigators say the driver of the vehicle stopped and provided a voluntary breath sample, which showed no signs of alcohol consumption.
The crash remains under investigation.
