A pedestrian trying to walk across I-10 near Causeway Blvd. was struck and killed this morning.
Louisiana State Police say it happened around 9:30 a.m. The person who was struck was killed at the scene.
The investigation into the incident caused backups on the in-bound I-10 for hours this morning before it finally cleared out early in the afternoon.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
