Two men who robbed a Ponchatoula Dollar General are at large, and authorities are asking the public to help identify the suspects.
The robbery happened around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20 at the store on LA 22 near Pontchatoula High School.
According to Sheriff Daniel Edwards, two armed men walked into the store, pulled what they believe to be a gun on an employee, and forced that employee to open a safe and give them the money inside the safe. According to surveillance video, the object the men brandished was covered, so deputies do not know for certain if it was a gun.
After stealing the money, the suspects ran away towards Weaver Lane.
If you have any information about the robbery, call the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office at 985-902-2017 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-554-5245.
