What will it take to get life back to normal? Just two things, says Mike Steele in the Louisiana Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness: power and plenty of places to buy gas.
"Those seem to be the things that are causing people the most, you know, harm and headache at the moment," said Steele.
But with Entergy now saying most of metro New Orleans will have power restored by the middle of next week, Steele says there is a lot more optimism that we are approaching the end of Ida's immediate aftermath.
"As we start to get the power restored and we start to the gas shortage issues kind of resolved it seems like there's a lot of optimism that over the next few days there will be a lot of process towards those things," he said.
