President Joe Biden has approved a federal emergency declaration for Louisiana ahead of Hurricane Francine's landfall.

According to the declaration, the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA are now authorized to coordinate all disaster relief efforts associated with the hurricane. The emergency declaration also allows the federal government to send funding to Louisiana to assist with hurricane relief, including evacuation and shelter operations. The declaration also allows the federal government to provide direct assistance to all 64 parishes for any impacts they may face as a result of the storm.


Hurricane warnings are posted from the Cameron/Vermilion Parish Line to Grand Isle. Tropical storm warnings are posted from Grand Isle to the Alabama/Florida line.
