After years of legal proceedings, 93-year-old former Catholic priest Lawrence Hecker has plead guilty to rape and molestation charges in a New Orleans courtroom.
Hecker today changed his plea and admitted in court to sexually abusing a child when he was a Catholic priest.
This case focused on one of the victims that Hecker told WWL TV he had molested.
He plead guilty as charged to first-degree rape, aggravated crime against nature, aggravated kidnapping and theft.
He will now spend the rest of his life in prison.
Hecker had previously admitted on camera that he and others in the church felt free to have sex with children in the 1960s and 1970s during the “sexual revolution.”
