Showers overnight mark the first time New Orleans has recorded rain at the airport in November.
WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone says more is possible, with a 40 percent chance.
"A few showers Friday morning, with isolated showers into the afternoon, but many stay warm and dry."
He says the heat will still be on, with the record high of 83 likely to fall.
"Temperatures soar into the mid 80s this afternoon with record highs likely."
Malone says Saturday stays warm ahead of a weak cool front, then Sunday turns much nicer in the 70s with lower humidity.
He expects we get even cooler for Thanksgiving.
