A strong cold front is headed for Southeast Louisiana.
"This cold front is going to shock some people," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone advised. "From the mid 80s to windchills in the 20s. It will feel 60 degrees colder by Tuesday morning."
He says it gets windy for Monday, but the severe weather threat is low for the New Orleans region.
"Sunday is warm with a few storms tonight."
The rest of the state is facing the potential for more impact.
"A severe weather system will be moving across the state," Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry said in a message to residents. "This system will likely impact northern and central parishes with a high probability of high wind, hail, and the likelihood of tornadic activity."
The governor warned that power outages may occur.
"Please take precautions and stay weather aware."
