New Orleans Police are investigating a number of car break-ins that occurred during the Krewe of Chewbacchus Parade last night.
Broadcast reports say the break-ins took place off St.
Claude Avenue near the St. Roch Market.
Many people had gathered in the area to watch the festivities.
They returned to scores of broken windows later in the evening.
Along with carjackings, New Orleans residents have had to deal with seemingly countless criminal acts of car burglaries, usually at parking areas like apartments and schools where the cars are parked for an extended period of time.
No arrests have been made as yet.
