From 80s yesterday to 30s tomorrow, we are experiencing weather whiplash.
"Expect a chilly Monday with highs only in the 50s. It will also be windy, with gusts up to 45 mph," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone forecasts. "Tonight, temperatures will fall into the 30s, with a freeze likely on the Northshore."
He says bring in or protect your sensitive vegetation.
"Be sure to protect sensitive plants in those areas."
A warmup begins Wednesday, with highs back in the 80s by Friday.
Malone urges safety with the gusty conditions in the meanwhile.
"Those strong winds, combined with dry air, will create a high fire danger, so burning is not advised today."
