New details on the French Quarter quadruple shooting and homicide Thursday show one of the suspects, Nicholas Miorana (left), was allowed to stay out of jail despite apparent repeated violations of the terms of his release.
WWL-TV's Mike Perlstein dug up the info on Miorana's convictions. In January 20204, Miorana pleaded guilty to attempted possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and was sentenced to probation and home confinement, with orders that he wear an ankle monitor.
"From the very beginning of the home incarceration, the records show he wad repeatedly in violation of those orders," Perlstein reported.
Despite that record, WWL-TV reports Orleans Criminal District Court Judge Leon Roche allowed the home confinement sentence to continue, even after Miorana was booked with domestic abuse battery in September.
A supervisor at ASAP Monitoring told WWL-TV they notified Judge Roche of Miorana's home confinement violations, and records show those notifications were received.
Despite that, Miorana remained out of jail until his arrest after Thursday's deadly shooting.
Meanwhile, police continue to search for two more suspects in the crime: Daniel Miorana (center) and Darrell Adams.
