Just days after members of the Louisiana Sports and Exposition District publicly criticized New Orleans Saints officials for not paying an $11.4 million dollar bill for Superdome renovations, the Saints have reportedly paid the LSED for their share of the work.
Our partners at NOLA.com report that The New Orleans Saints have made that payment, citing businessman and Governor Jeff Landry advisor Shane Guidry for that information. Guidry told the paper that the payment came just hours after Landry discussed the issue with Saints owner Gayle Benson.
Earlier on Friday, Saints president Dennis Lauscha said the Saints stopped paying for the work because the Saints and LSED hadn't made suitable progress in a new long-term lease for the NFL team. Lauscha also called the LSED's public discussion of the matter "disingenuous" and "unprofessional."
