A teen who was shot by Gulfport police officers after he allegedly brandished gun at cars driving along a road has been taken off of life support.
Published reports by media outlets in Mississippi quoted the Jaheim McMillan’s mother as making the announcement.
This comes two days after an incident in which an officer shot McMillan in the head. According to the Gulfport Police Department, it happened after officers received reports of a car with multiple people in it waving guns at other drivers. Department officials say an officer pulled over the car, after which all but two people in the car allegedly fled. The release said that an office “engaged” McMillan, who was allegedly armed. McMillan was taken to the hospital. The other suspects were arrested.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting.
