A popular Metairie restaurant is closing after 47 years in business.

According to a post on its Facebook page, Riccobono's Peppermill Restaurant will be shutting down this Sunday at 2 p.m. The post says the restaurant's owners, Vincent Riccobono and Cami Chiarella, are retiring.

"Over the years, we have had the immense privilege of becoming a part of your lives, sharing in your celebrations, milestones, and even the quiet moments that become cherished memories," the post reads. "The love and support you have shown us have been the driving force behind our dedication, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

"We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you. Your loyalty, smiles, and kind words have been the heart and soul of Riccobono's Peppermill. It's been an honor to serve you, to witness your stories unfold within these walls, and to be a place where connections were made."

While Riccobono's Peppermill will be closing, the three other restaurants in the Riccobono portfolio, Sala NOLA, Riccobono's Panola Street Café, and Café Navarre, will remain open.
