Cops say gunfire rang out on the edge of the French Quarter Saturday night.
"New Orleans Police are investigating a shooting," Spokesman Barry Fletcher said in an email. "According to investigators, police were called to the 500 block of Canal Street shortly before 7:30."
He says officers found a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
"New Orleans EMS transported the victim to hospital."
About and hour and 15 minutes later, another person was shot a few blocks away.
"Police were called to the 900 block of Canal Street shortly before 8:45 p.m. tonight. On arrival, responding officers found a male victim suffering from at least one wound."
EMS also took that victim to the hospital.
