It’s called “confirmation bias.” “Confirmation bias” is the practice of searching for any information that supports - or confirms - your bias. Many people watch Fox News because the network delivers a definite slant to the news that confirms the bias of the viewers. CNN and MS NOW do the same thing but slant the presentation of stories to the left.
Believing President Trump saying that the hecklers at his recent rallies are paid hecklers - confirms what MAGA supporters want to believe. The devout supporters of President Trump who would take hours out of their day to go to a Trump rally cannot believe that anyone - other than a left-wing radical who hates America - would interrupt one of Trump’s long-winded speeches. So, when the president says that the hecklers are paid he is simply providing “confirmation bias” to support his supporters.
But is it true? Are the hecklers at recent Trump rallies actually paid to heckle the president? NO! There is no credible evidence that any of the hecklers are paid. There is a history of paying people to act as political activists that oppose a certain candidate - but when it comes to hecklers - there is no evidence that they are paid.
The truth is that many Americans do not like President Trump. In fact, many hate President Trump in the same way that many people hated President Obama and President Biden. And we have all witnessed a thrust of Republicans - even MAGA supporters - who no longer like or support Trump. That’s not my opinion - that is a FACT.
On my talk show today on WWL in New Orleans - I offered anyone listening the opportunity to send me any credible information they had that supported the claim that Trump hecklers are being paid. I asked that the information about paid hecklers at Trump rallies be sent to my email address: Scoot@WWL.com. I made the offer before the end of the show. So, for the duration of the show to 1 hour and 45 minutes after the show - there has not been 1 email offering credible information that the Trump hecklers are being paid as the president insists.
I will update you on any emails that might come in - but the truth is there does not seem to be any credible information that these hecklers are being paid.
Considering the countless lies we have been told by this president - there is little reason to believe that he is telling the truth when he says the hecklers are being paid. Trump is trying to protect his image by suggesting that no one would ever heckle him unless they were paid.
Also - CNN journalist Kaitlan Collins has been bashed for correctly showing the large number of empty seats at a recent Trump rally. This is factual - not fantasy. The reason journalists even venture into the area of showing empty seats at a rally or at the GOP Midterm Convention is because President Trump makes such a big deal about his appearances being sold out. That’s not true - but the president makes a big deal out of promoting that lie that the media naturally goes after the truth. If Trump said nothing about his appearances being sold out - I seriously doubt the media would go so far as to report on empty seats. Trump invites media scrutiny by blatantly lying.
