Scoot: Republicans to break with President Trump

In yet another example showing that my goal is only to present the truth and not to look for opportunities to just get people riled up over politics - Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham and Sen. John Kennedy reflected the meaning of a video I posted after the show Thursday.

After I talked about Republicans breaking with President Trump out of fear of losing the midterm elections - Laura Ingraham surprised Fox viewers when she said that “many Republicans” in Congress are hoping that their party loses in the midterms because that would relieve them of feeling pressured to pass bills by President Trump that they disagree with. She made the comment after I talked about it on my show and after I posted a video on Scoot On The Air FaceBook, Scoot On The Air InstaGram, and Scoot On The Air on Substack.

In addition to Ingraham’s startling comment about Republicans - Sen. John Kennedy told reporters that he would never have expected to be traveling this weekend to campaign for Republican candidates who are engaged in very close races with Democrats in strong red states. “This weekend, I’m going to Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa to help raise money and campaign for our very good candidates. If you told me six months ago I was going to be having to spend my time in those three states, I wouldn’t have believed you. Those oughta be fat guy layups for us. Now we’re gonna win there. But the races are close,” Kennedy told reporters.

Prior to any knowledge of the aforementioned comments from Republicans about Republicans breaking with President Trump out of fear of losing in the midterms - on my show and with the video I posted on SOTA FB, IG, and Substack - I talked about an extremely conservative radio talk show host - Jesse Kelly - who said he was shocked Trump would choose to start a war with Iran before the midterms. I also mentioned that a former two-term Republican governor of Kansas - Bill Graves - announced he would not support Republican incumbent Roger Marshall and would be endorsing Marshall’s Democratic challenger - Adam Hamilton instead. I also brought up Republican Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar who released an ad attacking president Trump for his immigration policies warning the president that the Hispanics who helped put him in office in 2024 feel rejected by him and warned the president cannot count on their support in the midterms. And then - in a moment of true American spirit - MAGA activist and Florida official - Anthony Sabatini said of Rep. Salazar - “Deport her ASAP.” Salazar was born in Miami and is a U.S. citizen. The idea of calling for American citizens to be deported over disagreement with the president is a display of un-American stupidity.

Also this week - seven Republicans defied Trump and voted with Democrats to curtail Trump’s war powers when it comes to the war with Iran.

My point of all of this is two-fold.

  1. I do not just copy when I hear in the media. I often lead and my goal is not to disagree with the president - my goal is to present important truths that are not talked about throughout the conservative media echo chamber which has a goal of often ignoring the truth in favor of shading many of the president’s comments and actions.
  2. It is a fact that many Republicans are standing up to Trump out of fear they may lose in the midterm elections. These Republicans are learning that many of their Republican constituents are breaking with Trump over many of the sideshow antics, like demanding that his name be on the Kennedy Center or he might demolish the whole structure, or promoting money with his face on it, or finding innocent people to blame for the failures of a company to fix The Reflecting Pool, and this list goes on. Republicans are fed up with little talk about ending the war with Iran, the economy and the out-of-control rise in the price of gas and diesel, and the real problems and struggles that real Americans are dealing with every day while Trump and his family see money cascading into their accounts. It was discovered that President Trump has made more stock market trades than all of the members of Congress. Of course, he doesn’t have time to worry about our soldiers being killed and injured as the war with Iran continues with no end in sight.

I understand that MAGAites don’t want to hear or accept the truth about Donald Trump - but many Republicans have gained a new sense of who this president really is and it’s okay to be a Republican and disagree with Trump. Where does it say that all Democrats have to agree with a Democratic president and where does it say that all Republicans must agree with Donald Trump? It’s okay - it’s healthy - to have disagreement within parties. And Republicans breaking with President Trump is not over.
