Louisiana breaks its record for positive COVID-19 cases for a second straight day in a row.
Today, the Louisiana Department of Health reports 14,802 new COVID cases. That breaks the state's previous single-day record of 14,077 new cases from yesterday. Today’s new cases push Louisiana to a total of 908,428 cases.
Hospitalizations continue to rise to 1,521. Of the patients in the hospital, 78% of them were not fully vaccinated. Deaths due to COVID also increased by one to 16.
