Shootings in Uptown, French Quarter leave three injured

Three people are in New Orleans hospitals after seperate overnight shootings in different parts of the city, including one in the French Quarter.

The first happened just after 11 p.m. Friday on South Claiborne Avenue between Napoleon and Jefferson Avenues in the Uptown section of the city. According to NOPD investigators, a man suffered a body wound. Police learned of the shooting after the victim arrived at a hospital seeking treatment.


The second shooting happened just after midnight Saturday morning on Iberville Street at Royal Street near the Hotel Monteleone. Police say two men were shot, both suffering body wounds. An EMS crew responded and took the victims to the hospital.

Police did not provide any information about the victims' conditions.
