Slidell police say they’ve arrested the man who robbed a bank at gunpoint late Thursday morning.
Herbert Davis, 49, Slidell, is in the Slidell City Jail on an armed robbery charge. Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal says officers arrested Davis during a traffic stop on Friday. According to Fandal, Davis tried to speed away from drivers, but officers eventually caught him and took him into custody.
Investigators accuse Davis of robbing the Bank Plus on Gause Boulevard East around 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Fandal says officers used surveillance video from around the area to track down Davis in less than 24 hours from when the robbery happened.
Fandal says more charges against Davis are pending.
