A Slidell police officer who was part of the unit escorting Governor Jeff Landry through the city during his tour of tornado damage is recovering after being involved in a motorcycle crash.
That crash happened around 1 p.m. near the intersection of West Howze Beach Road and Rio Street.
According to Slidell police, the officer hit an unmarked Louisiana State Police unit. The officer suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Nobody else was hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
