WWLTV reports the Slidell Popeyes on Gause Boulevard has adopted an area rooster as their unofficial mascot after the bird started showing up at the chicken joint in the days after Hurricane Ida.
The report details how employees at the Popeyes elected not to turn the bird away once it started pecking around the premises, staring into the front door, hanging out near the drive-through, and entertaining everyone in the drive-through.
No word on if the rooster is aware of what’s happening inside the restaurant.
