After two days of the I-10 closed in New Orleans East due to a mix of smoke and fog, we did not see the low visibilities this morning.
Crews were in position to shut down the interstate if necessary, but conditions did not require it today.
While some smoke from the wildfire southeast of the I-10 near Michoud, it was not the blinding, fog mixed thickness we had seen the previous couple of days.
Some schools and employers had adjusted start times and shift schedules, fearing more closures and traffic delays.
New Orleans Police released the following...
TRAFFIC UPDATE: As of this time, there are currently no traffic closures in Orleans Parish in regard to low visibility conditions. This includes the interstates and heavily trafficked highways.
NOPD will continue to monitor these areas throughout the morning and will provide updates if conditions worsen.
