Some schools close in anticipation of freeze

With freezing weather following right behind overnight and early Tuesday morning precipitation, some schools in the area are canceling classes.

The Archdiocese of New Orleans announced Monday afternoon that it is canceling all school and related activities on Tuesday.

All Jefferson Parish public schools are closed Tuesday.

St. Tammany Parish Public Schools announced all schools will be closed Tuesday.

St. Bernard Parish Public Schools will be closed Tuesday.

St. Charles schools will be closed Tuesday.

St. John the Baptist parish schools will do remote learning on Tuesday, according to WWL-TV.

Nunez Community College will switch to remote learning for Tuesday.

UNO will switch to remote learning for Tuesday.

The following schools will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16 due to the expected weather:

-International School of Louisiana (all campuses: Uptown, Dixon and Westbank)
-Morris Jeff Community School (all campuses: Elementary, Middle and High)
-New Orleans Charter Science and Math High School "Sci High"
-Robert Russa Moton Charter School
-Audubon Schools (Audubon-Uptown and Audubon-Gentilly)
-Benjamin Franklin Elementary/Middle Mathematics and Science School
-Discovery Schools (Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy and Dr. John Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences Academy)
-Hynes Charter Schools (Hynes-Lakeview, Hynes-UNO and Hynes-Parkview)
-Warren Easton Charter High School
-Young Audiences Charter Schools (All campuses: Lawrence D. Crocker, Little YACS, Kate Middleton and Burmaster)

The following schools will be closed and have asynchronous/virtual learning tomorrow from home:

-International High School of New Orleans (IHSNO)
-Einstein Charter Schools (Sherwood Forest, Village De L'est, Einstein Middle and Sarah T. Reed)
