A St. Rose man is facing kidnapping and human trafficking charges after authorities say he drove to Tennessee to meet a 14-year-old teen and to bring her back to Louisiana.

According to St. Charles Parish sheriff's deputies, Alexander Materne met the girl while playing an online video game. Investigators say the pair made plans for Materne to drive to Tennessee to pick her up. That trip allegedly happened on Monday.

Investigators say Materne brought the teen back to his St. Rose home and had sex with her. That's when, sheriff's deputies say, the teen revealed her age to Materne. According to investigators, Materne then brought the girl to a wooded area in Tangipahoa Parish and abandoned her there, leaving her with only a tent, food, and water.

The girl's family contacted authorities after they learned about Materne and his ties to the Jennings area. Authorities tracked Materne down at a relative's house in the Jeff Davis Parish seat on Christmas Day. According to investigators, Materne admitted to leaving the teen girl in the woods and led authorities to her location. The girl was found in good health and taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Matherne is facing aggravated kidnapping and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile charges in Tangipahoa Parish. He's facing human trafficking and carnal knowledge charges in St. Charles Parish.
