St. Tammany Parish sheriff's deputies say they arrested a man who allegedly broke into his estranged wife's home, stole her father's ashes, and pointed a gun at another person inside the house.
According to sheriff's office spokesperson Sgt. Suzanne Carboni, Roy Gogue violated a protective order against him when he barged into the home on Sharp Road near Mandeville around 9 p.m. Friday. Carboni says Gogue got into a fight with the second person inside the home before arming himself. However, Carboni says no shots were fired during the incident.
Deputies later found Gogue while he was driving near Slidell early Saturday morning. Deputies stopped Gogue and arrested him. Carboni says those deputies found six guns and a variety of illegal drugs, including meth, fentanyl, and a variety of painkillers.
Gogue is remains in jail on numerous charges, including aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, violation of a protective order, and a host of drugs and guns charges.
