It's the start of a big weekend for New Orleans, with the Sugar Bowl and New Year's Eve.
Fans are already filling up downtown for tomorrow's 11 a.m. kickoff of the Allstate Sugar Bowl, pitting the Alabama Crimson Tide against the Kansas State Wildcats.
"Featuring a pair of top teams in the country and they're bringing lots of visitors in to spur a lot of spending here," said New Orleans & Company Chief Marketing Officer Mark Romig.
A Sugar Bowl appearance is a first for Kansas State fans.
"They've got fans all over the country and they're so excited to be here," said Romig.
And Alabama fans are no strangers to New Orleans. This is the Tide's seventeenth Sugar Bowl.
"They know exactly where the want to party, they know exactly where the Dome is, they know exactly how to have a good time," said Romig.
After the game, fans can join New Year's revelers on the riverfront for fireworks as we ring in 2023.
"We will have New Year's Eve fireworks once again," said Romig. "We also have New Year's Eve excitement just throughout the French Quarter."
