ASM Global, the company that manages Caesar Superdome and Smoothie King Center for the state of Louisiana, has been bought by Legends Hospitality.
Doug Thornton, ASM Global's Executive Vice President in New Orleans, says the change in ownership will not mean any changes at the venues they run here.
"No change in terms of the way we do our business with the LSED or the state or any of our stakeholders here," Thornton told members of the Superdome commission at Thursday's Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District meeting. "It will have little to no effect at the venue level."
Prior to the deal, ASM subcontracted with Legends to do construction management for the Superdome.
In addition to the Superdome and Smoothie Center, ASM manages stadiums across the U.S. and around the world, including Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium, U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, the ICC Sydney Convention Center in Australia, and Avicii Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
Pending government approval, the sale will be final in February, Thornton said.
The deal is worth a reported $2.4 billion.
