Final two suspects wanted in Xavier University campus shooting, arrested and booked

The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office says the last two suspects wanted for a shooting that killed a grandmother while leaving a high school graduation, have now been arrested and booked on charges.

The shooting happened last month outside a Morris Jeff Community School’s graduation which took place at the Convocation Center on Xavier University’s campus.


The shooting claimed the life of 80-year-old Augustine Greenwood who was attending her grandson’s graduation.

Brandon Rock, 18 was the first suspect in the shooting to be arrested. He was charged with manslaughter and a weapons charge last week.

Laverne Duplessis, 40, was also booked on Tuesday with manslaughter, obstruction of justice, and having a gun on campus. Frank Bartholomew, 49, was also arrested and booked with obstruction of justice. An arrest warrant was also issued for an unidentified 15-year-old suspect in the shooting investigation.

A judge set Rock’s bond at $750,000 while Bartholomew and Duplessis are awaiting bond hearings.
