Cops have recaptured an escapee on the Northshore.
The TPSO announced this morning, "Channing Garrett has been located and taken into custody!"
Early police were asking for help finding the inmate.
"The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office warns the public of an escaped inmate," authorities said in a news release. "Sheriff Daniel Edwards says at 4:03 this morning, an inmate identified as 39 year old Channing Garrett (black male) escaped custody."
Detectives said Garrett left the jail wearing all white with black shoes.
"Garrett was originally incarcerated for a judges hold relating to the violation of a protective order."
He was also serving time for various white collar crimes including forgery and injuring public records.
"Anyone with information regarding Garrett’s whereabouts are encouraged to call 911 immediately. Citizens are further encouraged to be on the lookout for anyone matching his description."
