The mayor's race in the Village of Tangipahoa proved this maxim to be correct.
Jenny Gray won the village's mayor's race, unseating incumbent Sheila Martin. The final vote tally: Gray--118, Martin--117.
According to the Louisiana Secretary of State's Office, the voter turnout for that race was 68.7 percent.
