St. Tammany Parish authorities say they've arrested a teenager that they have linked to a string of crimes that happened in the Slidell area in January.
According to St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office Sergeant Suzanne Carboni, the 15-year-old suspect confessed to breaking into three businesses, to stealing seven vehicles and trying to steal two others, and one car burglary. Carboni says during the business burglaries, the teen stole vaping items and a dirt bike.
Carboni says detectives recovered the dirt bike and four of the vehicles the teen allegedly stole, including a golf cart.
Carboni says the suspect was arrested in late 2023 for a separate vehicle burglary and has been linked to other crimes in St. Tammany Parish, St. Bernard Parish, and in Picayune, Mississippi.
The suspect is currently jailed in the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center.
