NOPD says two teens are behind bars after nearly beating a man to death on Canal Street between Royal and Bourbon on Sunday afternoon.
"Members of the New Orleans Police Department have arrested 18-year-old Kevin Adams (pictured below) and a 17-year-old juvenile in connection with the Attempted Murder of a 49-year-old man. The incident occurred in the 700 block of Canal Street shortly after 4:00 P.M.," according to a news release.
Investigators say officers responded to a call of a man who had been beaten.
"Upon arrival, Eighth District officers found the victim unresponsive and suffering from apparent trauma to his head and body. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition."
Police apprehended two suspects quickly.
"As a result of the officers’ quick response and relentless search, 18-year-old Kevin Adams and the 17-year-old juvenile were located a short time later. Kevin Adams was transported to Central Lock-Up and the 17-year-old juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Intake Center. Both suspects were booked with Attempted Second-Degree Murder."
