The terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office is hoping someone will come forward with information or remember a crucial detail in the murder of Jardney Dior Bell, who was shot five years ago on Halloween.

"On October 31st, shortly before 11:45 pm, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division  responded to Cortez Street after receiving reports of gunfire in the area," the sheriff's office said. "Upon arrival, Deputies discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a ditch. Inside, they located a male victim suffering  from gunshot wounds."

Bell died a week later.

"This investigation remains deeply important to our agency and to the Bell family. We believe someone in our community holds information that could help bring closure to this case and deliver justice for Jardney Bell," said Sheriff Tim Soignet. "We are once again asking anyone who knows something, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward."

Anyone with information is asked to call the TPSO Criminal Intelligence Division at (985) 876-2500, or Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at (800) 743-7433 or online at
