Louisiana State Police say a Terrytown man was hit and killed last night on LA 23 in Port Sulphur.
The accident happened just before 9pm on LA 23 south of Reddick Lane.
The driver of Cadillac Escalade was travelling in the right lane of LA 23 when they struck and killed 31-year old Trevor Powe.
Powe was reportedly standing in the right lane of the highway.
In the area of the crash, there are no designated crosswalks and lighting is limited.
Additionally, Powe was wearing dark colored clothing at the time of the crash.
Powe suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Cadillac was wearing their safety belts at the time of the crash and was not injured.
Impairment is not suspected on the part of the driver of the Cadillac and is unknown for Powe, toxicology tests are pending.
The investigation is ongoing.
