Now that Super Bowl weekend is behind us, we can get back to Mardi Gras, with events on both sides of the lake this weekend.
Officially, parade season doesn't begin in New Orleans and Jefferson Parish until next week.
"Don't tell the ten parades that are rolling this weekend that," laughed Arthur Hardy, creator of The Mardi Grad Guide.
Hardy says there are several parades in Slidell this weekend -- Titans, Poseidon, Antheia and the boat parade of Bilge.
The Little Rascals children's parade returns in Metairie, and the Krewe of Nefertiti parades in New Orleans East.
And this weekend is also the annual downtown New Orleans marches of the Krewe of Boheme, and the bawdy Krewe de Vieux.
"They're just traipsing through the quarter with some really hilarious floats," said Hardy. Just remember that many of Krewe de Vieux's floats are rated NC-17.
