A new report ranks the largest cities in the US, and how dirty they are.
In the lawnstarter.com study, New Orleans comes in at #54.
Researchers say they looked at the 200 biggest US cities, and they gathered publicly available data on pollution, living conditions, infrastructure, and consumer satisfaction.
When they averaged the scores, they found Houston, Texas is the “dirtiest.”
The other top five dirtiest included Newark, NJ; San Bernardino, CA; Detroit, MI; and Jersey City, NJ.
New Orleans isn't even the dirtiest in Louisiana. Shreveport easily took that title, ranking at #11 nationally.
The cleanest city in the rankings is Virginia Beach, VA. The others in the five least dirty include Fremont, CA; Des Moines, IA; Norfolk, VA; and Sunnyvale, CA.
