Third Tangipahoa jail escapee caught; one still at large

Hookfin Caught
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office

A third Tangipahoa Parish Jail escapee is back in custody, nearly one week after he broke free from the penitentiary.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office announced on its social media pages on Friday that its deputies had arrested Omarian Hookfin earlier in the day. Based on a picture attached to the post, deputies found Hookfin in a wooded area. However, authorities did not say exactly where they located Hookfin.

Hookfin was one of four suspects who broke out of the parish jail last Sunday by walking through a hole in a fence. Two of the other escapees, Avery Guidry and Travon Johnson, were caught on Monday after deputies found them in a dumpster outside a Dollar General a few miles west of Hammond.

The fourth escapee, Jamarcus Cyprien, remains on the run. If you know where he is, call 911.
