Two of the four Tangipahoa Parish Jail inmates who escaped from custody on Sunday are back behind bars after deputies caught them early Monday morning.
According to Sheriff Daniel Edwards, deputies arrested Avery Guidry and Travon Johnson after finding them hiding in a dumpster behind a Dollar General on Pumpkin Center Road at Old Baton Rouge Highway. Both were rebooked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
Johnson, 21, and Guidry, 19, were both in jail awaiting trial for a 2022 homicide in which a man was shot to death during a home invasion. A third suspect in that shooting, Omarion Hookfin, 19, also escaped during the jailbreak.
The fourth inmate who escaped, Jamarcus Cyprien, 20, was serving time for armed robbery and weapons charges.
Both Cyprien and Hookfin remain at large as of Monday night.
If you know where either escapee is, call 911.
