Volunteers, members of the New Orleans Police Department, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the United Cajun Navy have come together to search for three children who went into the Mississippi River last week and didn’t come out.
8-year-old Ally Wilson, her 14-year-old sister Brandy Wilson and 15-year-old friend Kevin Poole.
Among those who joined in search were people who’ve also lost children.
According to broadcast reports one searcher came with a drone to provide over-water coverage of the search area for the missing kids.
Another father who suffered the loss of a child brought grill and prepared food and cold water for the search parties.
The search for the three will extend through this weekend.
The family of the missing wants to recover the bodies of their children so they can be given proper burials.
