New Orleans Police report a string of cases of suspects trying to take cars from drivers in the Bywater neighborhood Sunday.
At around 6:35pm cops say a 35-year-old woman was carjacked in the 3100 block of Burgundy Street.
"Suspects approached victim's vehicle and demanded her to exit," according to an initial police report. "Victim complied."
The suspects were only described as "Two unknown black males."
Six minutes later it happened again in the 800 block of Saint Roch Ave.
This time a 36-year-old woman was the victim.
Police say "three unknown black males" were the suspects.
The initial NOPD report says, "Suspects approached victim’s vehicle and attempted to pull her door handle, at which time victim drove off."
At 6:50pm there was another attempted carjacking near Royal Street and Piety Street.
This time a 31-year-old man was the victim.
"While sitting in parked vehicle at location, suspect approached victim’s vehicle and ordered victim to exit. Victim sped away."
