The NOPD is investigating three separate shootings that landed three men in hospitals. All three shootings happened within four hours of each other Saturday afternoon and evening in separate parts of the city.
The first happened around 4 p.m. in the medical district on Cleveland Avenue at South Derbigny. According to the NOPD's major offense log, the victim was sitting in his car when someone fired shots toward him. The victim suffered two leg wounds. He drove himself to the hospital.
Two hours later, police responded to a shooting on Bundy Road near Chef Menteur Highway in New Orleans East. Police say the victim was inside his apartment when the suspect turned his doorknob. The victim then opened the door and saw the suspect walking down the steps. That's when, police say, the suspect turned around and shot the victim in the lower leg. The suspect is described only as a man wearing a hoodie.
Two hours after that, a man showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound. Police are trying to figure out where that third shooting happened.
