New Orleans Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick said recently that violence spikes during the holiday season.
That was evident overnight with three separate shootings in the city.
The first was around 10:30pm.
"The NOPD is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1700 Block of Laharpe St.," Public Relations Specialist Karen Boudrie said in an email. "A male was shot at least one time to his body."
About an hour later, there was more gunfire.
"The call came out at 11:40pm."
Boudrie said a male victim showed up at the hospital after he was shot at "an unknown location."
An initial police report later said it happened in the 1900 block of Lapeyrouse Street.
"The victim was walking in the area when he heard shots fired. The victim realized he was struck and relocated to a local hospital."
Then just before 5:00am there was another shooting.
"The NOPD is working a shooting at S. Claiborne and Washington... an adult male with a gunshot wound to the leg."
She did not say the conditions of any of the victims.
