A child died overnight after gunfire in New Orleans.
"On Saturday, November 30, 2024, at approximately 11:20 p.m., NOPD responded to a report of a 3-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound," according to a news release.
Police say the child died University Medical Center.
"The preliminary investigation indicates the incident occurred at a residence in the 2200 block of Willow Street."
NOPD says child abuse detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the three-year old's shooting death.
