As New Orleans holds its first Mardi Gras in two years, tourism leaders say it feels like the city is about to explode with joy.
New Orleans & Company Vice President Walt Leger says you could feel it last weekend, when Krewe du Vieux paraded: people everywhere, and a feeling of excitement as the city's signature event returns. And he says it's just the beginning.
"Demand is only increasing. People across the country are continuing to express the desire and also pull the trigger on planning and executing vacations," Leger told WWL's Newell Normand.
Coming on the heels of Mardi Gras, Leger says there are a lot more events that will being visitors to the Crescent City: the NCAA Mens' Final Four, French Quarter Fest, and Jazz Fest.
