A trailer carrying motorcycles and containers of nitrous oxide exploded on I-10 west-bound between Transcontinental Drive and Veteran'\s Boulevard in Metairie, NOLA.com reported Saturday.
There are no reported injuries.
According to officials, the explosion also damaged nearby houses and possibly a passing vehicle.
By the time firefighters were on the scene, the trailer was fully engulfed by the flames. After it exploded, firefighters extinguished the blaze at 12:23 p.m.
Louisiana State Police troopers are investigating the cause of the fire.
