Triple shooting: 1 woman, 2 men amid violence filled weekend in New Orleans

New Orleans Police say three people were shot shortly after 5:00pm Sunday.

"The NOPD is investigating a triple shooting at a location that has yet to be determined," Public information officer Shereese Harper said in an email.


She explained that initial reports were that someone brought an adult female and two adult males to a local hospital to be treated for injuries from gunshots.

"The initial call was made at 5:19pm," she said.

It came in the midst of a violent weekend that included murders, shootings, armed robberies and carjackings from Uptown New Orleans to New Orleans East.

A double Homicide left a 23-year-old man and a 25-year-old man dead shortly before noon in the 6000 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

A man was also killed on I-10 at the Esplanade Avenue Exit early Saturday morning.  A woman was wounded in the incident.

Another murder happened at Benefit Street and Saint Roch Avenue.

There was also a homicide at 6233 Curran Blvd.

In addition, there were four carjackings and one attempted carjacking Saturday just in the Second Police District in Uptown New Orleans.

They happened at 2237 Audubon Street, 1220 Adams Street, 300 State Street and 2814 Palmer Avenue.

Police say four suspects were arrested Saturday night.

Carjackings also happened at the Lake Forest Blvd Exit off I-510, 2024 Brutus Street and 1621 Franklin Avenue.

There were armed robberies at 3134 DeSoto Street, 1636 Saint Roch Avenue, 300 Audubon Street 10342 Chevy Chase Drive and 4254 Maple Leaf Drive

Shooting also occurred at 1356 Flanders Street and 900 St.
Louis Street.
